Since 2022, we have been carrying out support missions in Ukraine. We work directly with hospitals, military units and humanitarian organizations operating in Ukraine, identify real needs and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.

“back to flight”
“Back to Flight” is an initiative by NGO “Gyvačių sala” supporting Ukrainian drone workshops and the restoration of damaged FPV drones. Due to intensive use and heavy production demands, many damaged or non-operational drones reach the workshops.
The project funds spare parts, cameras, control equipment and other essential equipment required for repairs.
Every restored drone returns valuable capability and helps save lives.

“Shield the Heroes, Stop the Drones”
NGO “Gyvačių sala” aims to raise €100,000 to equip 100 evacuation teams in Ukraine with 100 anti-drone defence kits.
Each kit includes:
1 × semi-automatic anti-drone shotgun
1 × drone detector
These kits enable evacuation teams to detect and neutralize deadly drones before they strike, helping protect both rescuers and the people being evacuated.
The “Shield the Heroes, Stop the Drones” project continues. So far, 30 kits have been delivered. We invite you to follow the project’s progress and contribute to protecting evacuation teams in Ukraine.
NGO “Gyvačių sala” is a non-governmental organization with charitable status, providing direct assistance to Ukrainian hospitals and defenders.
Our activities began in March 2022, when volunteer instructors and reserve soldiers travelled to Ukraine to share their long-term experience with newly mobilized soldiers. We soon became involved in initiatives supporting Ukraine.
Since August 2022, we have been carrying out regular support missions in Ukraine, working directly with hospitals, humanitarian organizations and military units.
Every project begins with direct communication with our partners in Ukraine. Once a specific need is identified, we look for a solution, engage supporters, organize logistics and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it.
Our strength lies in trusted local partners, long-term relationships and the ability to turn real needs into tangible results.

Every project we undertake begins in Ukraine.
By working directly with aid recipients and our partners in Ukraine, we identify the most urgent needs and look for effective ways to address them.
Our operating model:

Deliver assistance directly to the recipients.

This approach ensures that support is directed where it is needed most and that every project has a clear objective and a measurable impact.
why mission support matters
The most visible part of our work is often a delivered vehicle, equipment delivered to a hospital, or assistance reaching Ukrainian defenders.
But every project also has a less visible side — the mission that makes it possible for that assistance to reach its recipients.
Our missions usually last 10–12 days. During this time, our volunteer team visits partners in different regions of Ukraine, delivers assistance, meets with hospitals, humanitarian organizations and military units, and plans future projects.
For each mission, we need fuel, vehicle maintenance and repairs, road tolls, as well as food and accommodation for volunteers while travelling.
Our volunteers take part in these missions in their own time and without compensation. However, to enable them to work safely and effectively, the basic costs of each mission must be covered.
By supporting our missions, you are not simply funding a journey. You help ensure that the assistance collected through the generosity of our supporters reaches Ukrainian defenders, that equipment and medical supplies reach hospitals, and that help reaches those who need it most.
Without missions, there would be no results.

Marine Nets for Protection Against Drones – we regularly deliver marine nets used for protection against drones. (Video here)
Vehicle for the Marine Infantry Psychological Operations Team – after their vehicle was destroyed by Russian drones, we replaced it with a new one suitable for their work and rapid evacuation from drone threats. (Video here)
Children’s Play and Recreation Room at Petropavlivka Hospital – in cooperation with VšĮ “Karoliniškių poliklinika”, UAB “Visuomenės projektai”, and with the support of UAB “Kauno švara”, we created a play and recreation space for children. (Video here)
